Album Notes
The Wingspan compilation features tracks from Paul's hugely successful early solo career, from 1970 to 1984, and many classics performed as Wings. The album features 40 songs and comes in at two-and-a-half hours of McCartney music on a double CD. Wingspan was launched in tandem with a feature-length documentary film of the same name that told the intimate inside story of Wings for the first time.
Despite setting themselves the hardest job in rock and roll, in the space of nine years Wings soared to international success with 17 million-seller singles, five US Number 1 albums and eventually a US stadium show that broke The Beatles' attendance record.
Re-mastered by Peter Mew and Geoff Emerick
Executive Producer Paul McCartney
All tracks published by MPL Communications Ltd
Except CD1 Track 4 published by MPL Communications Ltd & EMI United Partnership Ltd; CD2 Tracks 2, 4, 8, 10, 11, 13, 18 published by Northern Songs
It's an intimate scrapbook of us during that time, charting the dramatic turns of events that we dealt with, how we started out with Wings by really going back to square one, right back to basics, and how the band grew to become one of the biggest-selling acts of the Seventies.Paul
