In May 1973 Wings released _Red Rose Speedway_, which included the smash hit single ‘My Love’. In support of the album and the James Bond soundtrack anthem, ‘Live And Let Die’, the band embarked on a 19-date UK tour, including three sold out shows at London's Hammersmith Odeon. “There are lots of features with the act that are still a bit raw,” Paul commented at the time. “Our opening is still possibly a bit raw, and the end we could go on a bit longer, but this all fine tuning. The thing for us, the way we’ve done it, is the idea of having places to go still. This is only our third thing really – University Tour, Europe Tour and this.” For Paul, the sheer joy of performing remained, and still remains, central to the art of touring. “The aim was just to have a band, pure and simple. As to where we play, we’re easy. We’ll play down the pub if it’s cool, if we feel like it and they like it. But that’s the thing for us, we won’t naturally just play 500,000-seaters.”
