'You Gave Me The Answer' – Adam from the USA asks...

30.01.2014

Only one month into 2014 and here at PaulMcCartney.com we are already thinking what a great year it has been!

Earlier this month we announced Paul’s nomination for 'Best Solo Artist' at this year's NME Awards. (You can cast your vote for the award at NME's website HERE!) He was also nominated for four awards at the 2014 GRAMMY Awards.

As well as scooping up all four GRAMMYs this past Sunday - his biggest ever win at the ceremony - Paul also found time to perform his single ‘Queenie Eye’ from the 'NEW' album alongside Ringo Starr.

Together they received the Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recognising The Beatles' contribution to popular music, bringing Paul's tally up to five for the night.

So in just one month Paul has managed to achieve more than most of us could dream of! This ties in nicely with this month’s question submitted by Adam from the USA, who asks:

“If you were ‘Gonna sit right down and write yourself a letter’ what advice would you send back to your younger self about your future?”

We spoke with Paul just before he jetted off to LA and he gave this piece of advice:

“Relax, don’t sweat it. And be true to yourself, kid.”

The night after the GRAMMYs Paul took part in the recording of 'The Night That Changed America: A GRAMMY Salute to The Beatles', a TV special to celebrate the anniversary of The Beatles' first television appearance on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964. This will air on Sunday 9th February; the exact same date and time as the original broadcast.

From then to now, and all that came in between, Paul staying 'true' to himself has worked out pretty well!

What advice would you give your younger self? Let us know in the comments below…
