Hillsborough Tribute Single Reaches No. 1

The Justice Collective's Hillsborough tribute single 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother' is the UK 2012 Christmas number 1 single. The track reached the top spot in the singles charts last night with sales of over 269,000.

Last night the Official Charts Company tweeted, '#ChartFact Sir @PaulMcCartney has been on three Christmas Number 1s as part of a charity ensemble and eight Christmas Number 1s in total!'

The Justice Collective's Hillsborough tribute single 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother' is out now.

The song, tipped as a contender for the Christmas number 1, features Paul and brings together several well known names including Robbie Williams, Paul Heaton, Beverley Knight, Shane MacGowan and Paloma Faith to raise funds for the families affected by the 1989 tragedy.

To mark the single's release, and to show solidarity for the 96 fans who lost their lives, the song was played at half time across football games in the UK at the weekend.
